It’s gray and cold outside and I had a pretty bad night last night due to catching a bad cold. Luckily on Fridays I don’t have to answer the phones and sound horrible to the general public. You never really remember how horrible it feels to be sick until you are actually in the middle of it. The color and texture of what I hacked up this morning is very, very disconcerting. Also, I’m feeling as if everything is moving in slow motion. Not sure if this is due to sickness or the dayquil.

Last night Joel and I had our interviews with the Peace Corps regional recruiter, and I think they went well. We were the first couple that she’d interviewed, and Joel was also the first Master’s International student she’d interviewed so we were a double whammy of “special case” for her. She told us in the end that we seemed highly qualified, which is highly encouraging. Hooray! Now if we can get through the rest of the application (medical & legal stuff) then we’ll get our assignment. This part could take from 4 months to a year. Boo. We were thinking of going to the Peace Corps nomination party tonight to meet former PC volunteers but I don’t think that’s wise anymore given my state of health. I really shouldn’t be in a Brewery with the flu, or whatever it is.

Joel and I are very excited for the release of a certain movie this weekend concerning a certain bald man, his dog and a were-rabbit.
