Joel and I are both officially sick. Luckily, we didn’t suffer the same level of despairing exhaustion at the same time: I seem to have gotten sick Friday and am currently rising from the muck and gloom, and now Joel’s sleeping today next to a box of tissues and a cup of herbal tea.

The locals have informed us of a pleasant occurrence called “Humboldt Crud“–a lovely colloquialism for the common flu or cold virus. So I think passing through this stage will put us in better standing with our fellow Eureka neighbors. After all, I can’t imagine anyone who’s not from the area knowing what “Humboldt Crud” was all about.

On Sunday I felt well enough to go with Joel to see the new Wallace and Gromit feature. It was highly entertaining, and I would definitely urge anyone to see it, many times. I laughed, and then coughed, then blew my nose, and then laughed some more.
