We’re getting ready for travelling.
Joel and I will pack our bags with 2 weeks’ worth of supplies and embark on a triangular pattern of flights to Colorado (December 20th-28th), then on to Eastern Washington (28th-4th), then back down to Eureka. A very exciting prospect for all involved.
I’ve started tutoring an adult learner; we’ve met twice and it’s an interesting new experience. My learner is an older woman who wants to learn better writing skills in order to get her high school diploma. I’m revisiting my high school texts (The Write Source!) and remembering all the reasons why we speak and write a certain way. It’s a scary new experience and I hope I get better at it. Here’s hoping.
Other news: we’ve discovered that mice (or mouse singular) have been using our meager pantry as their own. After setting traps provided by our landlords, we’ve caught one – a bit of a moral dilemma, as I’m partial to the idea of mice in a Beatrix Potter sense, not to mention I think it was the father and provider that we caught (although it could have been a “lone wolf” as it were). Since we’ve caught the one, however, we haven’t experienced any other mini-raids in our cupboards.
Happy Holidays and safe travels to all!
