This is the first pumpkin I’ve carved since… high school probably. It was pretty fun.

In lieu of a Halloween party (Joel doesn’t really go for much pagan celebration) we had our first monthly “supperclub” (that’s hip code for potluck) last Friday. Each month we’ll have a food theme and this month we chose squash. We had quite the variety of dishes with so many types of squash–acorn, butternut, zucchini, pumpkin, etc. etc. etc. I made beet soup served in roasted acorn squash bowls, which everyone seemed to like. Good times!

Sarah grew up in Colorado but considers herself a Chinese-Malaysian-English-American. Her favorite thing to do is read in bed, or some sunny spot on a couch.

You are so creative! I always mangle my jack-o-lanterns.

Squash…yum, I remember a particularly delectible squash type soup you made for a earlier “supperclub” type event back in Seattle. I’m sure everyone’s taste buds in your club were very happy.

WOW! Sarah, you never cease to amaze me. You’re a very talented pumkin carver. I miss “supperclubs” at your place. I wish we could just swing by to visit! Know that we love and miss you lots! Jacinda
