– I graduated with my Masters degree from HSU, finally! The ceremony was a bit damp, but worth going to celebrate this accomplishment. I’m so happy to be done and ready to more on, but I haven’t ruled out continuing on to a PhD program sometime in the future. We’ll see though — a lot can happen. plus, right now I don’t feel like ever writing another paper. To celebrate, we went to one of Eureka’s fanciest restaurants, Restaurant 301 which is pretty famous (according to Wine Spectator) for its 3,000+ bottle wine cellar. We had a great meal which was enhanced by the feeling of freedom from school, and ultimately, Northern California. Wheee!
Other things happening:
-We’re trying to get things together for China. Things seem to be progressing pretty smoothly. We’re planning to leave Eureka a little before June 15, then head up to Spokane for a month or two before flying to Shanghai.
-Sarah finished her exercise class and Chinese class…I’m pretty sure she got A’s in both of them. She’s interviewing people to take over her job.
-We went to Arizona for my grandmother’s funeral. This was the first time Sarah ever got to meet Grandpop. I’m really glad she was able to. Grammie and Grandpop couldn’t come to our wedding because of her health problems — she had Alzheimer’s and she passed away a couple of weeks ago. I’m not sure what else to say on a public website; all I know is, she was one of the kindest, lovingest people I’ve known.
