We had a nice long weekend relaxing in Brookings, Oregon with our friends Andrew and Jess and their baby Jude. It was the first time we’ve gone vacationing with a baby, and it turned out to be both an eye-opening and fun experience. I now have a lot more respect for new parents and what they have to go through, and at the same time I’m in awe of the miracle of having a baby to cuddle and devote oneself to. Andrew & Jess are a great example of idealistic but realistic new parents! Good job guys.

We stayed at Andrew’s dad’s “cabin” which actually is a very nice condo – we were expecting to rough it in some way and were pleasantly surprised by the lack of roughing that ended up happening. The weather was exceptionally beautiful, and we spent our time exploring tide pools, napping, chatting, and eating tasty grilled things followed by a healthy serving of Tillamook Chocolate Peanut Butter ice cream. A perfect getaway, in other words!

Look! We’re at the beach! Hey! Yeah!

Sarah grew up in Colorado but considers herself a Chinese-Malaysian-English-American. Her favorite thing to do is read in bed, or some sunny spot on a couch.

just watch out that a baby with a kitty hat doesn’t come along – now that would be disaster!
