… man, where did the time go?? I’m not sure, but here we are at the end of summer, with only a few days left in the United States before leaving for China. So much has happened this summer, all of which has been very enjoyable. This summer makes me realize that maybe being a teacher would be a pretty great thing – 3 months of time to do whatever you want is so very appealing.

We’ve had a VERY full summer. Here’s a brief recap of all the stuff we did.

Moved from Eureka, CA to Spokane, WA.
Organized all of our stuff in Joel’s parents’ basement.
    Painted rooms for money.
Road trip as follows: Spokane WA -> Portland OR -> Eureka CA -> Ashland OR -> Seattle WA -> Victoria BC -> Vancouver BC -> Seattle WA – Spokane WA. Pics below:

At Dave & Anna’s wedding in Eureka CA (our first stop on our road trip)
Emigrant Lake in Ashland OR where we camped for a few days with Nathan & Christy. Despite the rain, we had an excellent time!
A stunning sunset in Victoria BC on Vancouver Island (my parents in the picture). We met them in Seattle and drove up to spend about 10 days in Victoria and Vancouver BC. After returning from the 2 1/2 week long road trip, we celebrated Joel’s Grandfather’s 90th birthday. Pics below.

    Grandpop makes a speech
Chocolate cheesecake (with raspberries: the story goes that Ernie’s mother was picking raspberries on the day that he was born)

Now we’re packing stuff in suitcases for the move to China. What fun!
