and we’re pulling out our long underwear and hoping that this year won’t be as bad as last year.

This holiday season we’re making more of an effort to make things festive, as the ache of missing family and friends is approaching.

This Sunday we’ll be hosting our first potluck in our new apartment, for all the local expat Americans bereft of their canned cranberry sauce this year. The big problem I’m facing now is: how can I prepare a meal using a toaster oven, a microwave, and a hot plate? It’ll be interesting for sure.

    Any suggestions appreciated!

Sarah grew up in Colorado but considers herself a Chinese-Malaysian-English-American. Her favorite thing to do is read in bed, or some sunny spot on a couch.

our dinner was a smashing success! You can do a roast pretty well in a toaster oven, it turns out.
